Internships for LMC Majors: What You Need to Know
Whether you’re looking for credit or just professional experience, here’s how internships work for LMC majors at Georgia Tech:
If Your Internship Is Paid
You do not earn course credit, but you do need to register your internship with the Georgia Tech Career Center as professional practice.
Steps for Registering with Career Services
If Your Internship Is Unpaid & Related to LMC
You may be eligible to earn course credit by registering for LMC 4904: Internship (pass/fail).
Steps to Register for LMC 4904:
- Secure the internship first.
- Complete the following form:
- Submit the completed contract from your Georgia Tech email to Amanda Blocker.
- If the internship qualifies, you’ll be given a permit to register for LMC 4904.
Credit Guidelines:
- Hours worked = credits earned
(Example: 12–15 hours/week for a full semester = 3 credits) - LMC 4904 counts as LMC elective or free elective
- Maximum of 9 pass/fail credits allowed at Georgia Tech
