Did you know that some LMC classes can be taken more than once? Several of our courses cover different topics each semester, so you may be able to take the same course number multiple times for credit!
The important thing to remember is that the topic must be different each time. For example, you could take LMC 3202 Studies in Fiction: Dark Academia and LMC 3202 Studies in Fiction: Global Science Fiction because they’re two different topics.
The following LMC classes are repeatable:
- LMC 3202 Studies in Fiction
- LMC 3206 Communication & Culture
- LMC 3226 Major Authors
- LMC 3234 Creative Writing
- LMC 3252 Studies in Film & TV
- LMC 3256 Major Filmmakers
- LMC 3257 Global Cinema
- LMC 3813 Special Topics
- LMC 4813 Special Topics
What if I want to take two sections in the same semester?
If you’re planning to take two different topics under the same course number in one semester, you’ll need to request a duplicate permit from me during registration.
For example, if you want to take two different LMC 3813 Special Topics classes in Spring 2027, you’ll need a duplicate permit to register for both.
Just email me with the course number and the two sections you’re trying to register for, and I can help with the permit.
As always, feel free to reach out if you have questions!
